The Aegis’s exterior doesn’t seem innovative – it’s as classic as it gets. And quite in keeping with the spirit of the times, it was cleaned of all unnecessary details. Just a modern grand turismo class coupe without additional family burdens. However, Aegis is not so simple…
AEGIS TeamThe entire upper part looks like a single glass cover: the front pillars go into the longitudinal guides of the roof, and the rear pillars are neatly disguised.
AEGIS TeamThe car may resemble different sports cars, but still does without direct quotes and does not copy anything
AEGIS TeamThe authors present their work as a concept that should do nothing less than change the paradigm of automotive design in a world that is accelerating into a digital future. It probably sounds pretentious. Agree, it would be easier to evaluate Aegis without the additional burden of these words…
AEGIS TeamThe author of the project as a whole and the exterior designer is Grigory Butin, who participated in the creation [Avatr 11](https://motor.ru/testdrives/avatrtest.htm) and worked at Volkswagen. The interior was designed by Kyuchin Lee of BMW Designworks. Aegis was modeled by Sandeep Dasari, a “digital sculptor” from Dazz Design Team. The concept was visualized in the photo by Thiago Aiello from Volvo, and in the video by Artem Shkirenko.
AEGIS TeamIt seems that in a parallel universe it might look like this [Aston Martin Vantage](https://motor.ru/testdrives/vantage2018.htm)
AEGIS TeamIt is understood that the power unit of the concept can be anything – either with a thermal engine or with an electric one.
AEGIS TeamThe size of the car can be judged by its 20-inch wheels: the Aegis is small.
AEGIS TeamTo understand the designers’ intentions, look at the exterior of the concept on a few more slides, but most importantly, scroll to the interior photos.

AEGIS TeamThere is not a single screen in the cabin, and the “tube” clock and drum instruments add a little… dieselpunk to the futuristic spirit of the project.

An international design team has created a concept car that reimagines the car for the digital age. At first glance, it is not clear how a classic coupe can take on such a mission. But it’s not only and not so much about appearance. In a world inundated with digital stimuli, Aegis provides a refuge where technology is liberating rather than distracting, the authors say. What does it mean? Look at the interior of the coupe in our gallery, and everything will become clear.
