The 2024 model sports convertible debuted in the Land of the Rising Sun. The model has been improved in a number of ways: new headlights have appeared, adaptive cruise control, a media system with an 8.8-inch touchscreen, the base engine has been boosted, the limited slip differential has been replaced, and the power steering has been reconfigured. Prices have increased by about ten percent: now from 2.9 million yen (equivalent to 1.95 million rubles).

The easiest way to recognize the updated Mazda MX-5/Roadster is by its all-LED headlights with daytime running lights and a built-in lidar on the passenger side. Other markers for the 2024 model year include gray metallic and wheels with an original design. In the cabin, the new product is unmistakably identified by the widescreen touch screen.

Technical changes include the introduction of adaptive cruise control with automatic braking function. Also, the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine has been boosted by four horsepower (up to 132 horsepower), and manual versions have acquired a different limited-slip differential. Mazda says it has improved accelerator pedal response, added an extreme driving mode called Track, and recalibrated electric power steering for driver feel.

As before, the Mazda MX-5/Roadster is available with naturally aspirated 1.5 and 2.0 engines, 6-speed transmissions (manual or automatic) and rear-wheel drive. Prices range from 2.9 to 3.8 million yen (equivalent to 1.95-2.55 million rubles). In Japan, sales will begin in January, and then the left-hand drive version will be similarly updated.
