One of the rarest versions of the Nissan GT-R sports car will be sold at auction. The GT-R50 model was prepared on the occasion of the half-century anniversaries of the Italdesign studio and the GT-R model and was planned to be produced in an amount of 50 pieces. The car received an engine boosted to 720 horsepower, an enhanced Brembo braking system and Bilstein DampTronic shock absorbers. According to preliminary estimates, rates for a car could reach 950,000–1,150,000 euros.

The Nissan GT-R50 coupe was conceived for a double anniversary: the 50th anniversary of Italdesign (celebrated in 2018) and the half-century of the GT-R itself (2019). The model is based on the GT-R Nismo sports car and is equipped with a 3.8 V6 engine developing 720 horsepower and 780 Nm of torque. The engine is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, adjustable Bilstein DampTronic shock absorbers and a powerful braking system with Brembo calipers. The GT-R50 also has an original body, and the circulation was limited to only 50 copies.

By the summer of 2022, the entire volume, according to Nissan, had been selected and the acceptance of applications from those interested was stopped. But the coronavirus pandemic interfered with production plans. In the end, fewer than 20 sports cars were built. Up for auction at Sotheby’s is number “11” and cost 1,050,000 euros: base 990 thousand plus 60 thousand for optional Liquid Silver Metallic paint and a hydraulic rear wing. Now they want to fetch 950,000–1,150,000 euros for a limited-edition two-door, which is not that much considering its rarity and condition.

The latter is evidenced by the mileage – 191 kilometers, as well as the fact that for unknown reasons the car was never delivered to the buyer. Since its release in 2021, it was stored first in a factory premises with a special microclimate, then in a specially equipped warehouse. In terms of exclusivity, none of the Nissans can compare with the GT-R50. The competition can only come from Leman’s sports prototype R90CK, which was sold at Sotheby’s this year for 1,073,750 euros (105.8 million rubles).
