Subaru Levorg station wagon received a cross version with 200 mm ground clearance

It is positioned as an independent model and is on a par with the Outback and Forester crossovers. The Levorg Layback is slightly different from the regular Levorg in appearance. For him, you can order two styling packages and a two-tone interior trim, but so far only one package has been announced.

The Subaru Levorg Layback debuted in Japan. Formally, this is a cross-version of the regular Levorg, although the company positions it as a separate model and puts it on a par with the Outback and Forester. The station wagon has a protective plastic body kit along the lower perimeter of the body and a ground clearance increased to 200 millimeters (a simple Levorg indicator is 140-145 mm). For a surcharge, there are two styling packages: Urban and STI Aero. Under the hood is a standard Levorg 1.8 turbocharger (177 hp, 300 Nm) with a Lineartronic CVT. The drive is complete.

For now, the Levorg Layback will only be sold in the Limited EX trim. It includes LED headlights, an SI-Drive mode selector, a power tailgate, a virtual “tidy”, a sliding sunroof, as well as leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift lever. In addition, all vehicles will be equipped with the EyeSight security system of the latest, fourth generation. It works on the basis of a stereo camera with an additional wide-angle mono lens, thanks to which the electronics recognize cars, motorcycles, pedestrians and cyclists.

In addition to the usual Levorg and Levorg Layback, there is another version of the station wagon available to the Japanese – the Levorg STI Sport R. The modification is nothing more than an Australian WRX Sportswagon adapted to the local market. The power unit for both models is common – a “turbo four” 2.4 with a capacity of 275 forces, combined with a Sport Lineartronic CVT and VTD all-wheel drive, which distributes thrust between the axles in a ratio of 45:55. The main difference is the torque indicator: the WRX Sportswagon has 350 Nm, the Levorg STI Sport R has 375.
