Mini has finally unveiled the new Aceman electric crossover. The Mini Cooper’s high-slung sibling offers a more spacious cabin without sacrificing city car agility and keeping a safe distance from the larger Countryman.

Unlike other members of the Mini lineup, which are available not only as electric vehicles, but also with internal combustion engines, the Aceman is available exclusively with an electric powertrain.

The Mini Aceman’s design combines the charming features of a Cooper hatchback with the angular details of a Countryman. Copious amounts of matte black plastic around the body, skid plates and roof rails keep it from resembling a tall hatchback, giving it a crossover feel.

The octagonal front grille serves mainly decorative purposes, and the air intake in the bumper is responsible for cooling important parts. The headlights resemble the eyes of a cute creature and offer three different LED graphics modes, as do the pixelated taillights.

The Mini Aceman range offers four different trim levels – Essential, Classic, Favored and JCW. The flagship JCW features unique bumper designs, a Chili Red roof and bonnet stripe and high-gloss black fascia trim.

The Aceman measures 4,075 mm in length, 1,754 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, placing it at the lower end of the compact crossover SUV (B-SUV) segment. It’s 217mm longer than the Cooper and 354mm shorter than the Countryman.

Despite its compact dimensions, Mini’s designers have remained true to the brand’s design principle of “smart use of space”, emphasizing the practicality of its new model. Thus, its interior is designed for five and leaves room for a trunk with a volume of 300 liters.

The interior is very similar to the Cooper, with the only display being a 9.44-inch circular OLED touchscreen in the center. While most functions are integrated into the touchscreen, there are a few toggle switches for start/stop, parking brake, driving mode switching, and adjusting audio volume.

The MINI Operating System 9 infotainment system is inspired by smartphones and includes Mini’s new intelligent personal assistant called Spike.

The dashboard features a knitted material, the door trims are made from recycled polyester, and the seats can have a textile surface or perforated Vescin upholstery. Another notable feature is the ambient lighting along the frame of the panoramic glass roof.

The crossover is equipped with twelve ultrasonic sensors and four all-round cameras that support the ADAS package, which can include complex systems such as Driving Assistant Plus and Remote Parking.

The Mini Aceman shares its underpinnings with the electric Mini Cooper, so it’s no surprise that both models offer the same powertrains and battery packs. The entry-level Aceman E is equipped with a single electric motor producing 181 hp. (135 kW) and 290 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 40.7 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of 310 km.

The Aceman SE boasts a more powerful electric motor with 215 hp. (160 kW) and 330 Nm of torque. Front-wheel drive. Thanks to the larger 54.2 kWh battery, the range is 406 km. Mini promises sporty chassis tuning and sharp steering. Additionally, the JCW trim is expected to provide even more precise handling, making up for the lack of extra power.

The Mini Aceman is expected to go on sale in China, Europe and the UK towards the end of the year. Production of the Aceman will begin in China and also at Mini’s Oxford plant in the UK in 2026.
