This was reported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, whose specialists calculated the level of localization of domestically produced vehicles. According to official data, this year “Loaves” and “Tadpoles” received from 2035 to 2350 points for import substitution. The result was significantly worse than last year’s figures.
In 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded Ulyanovsk trucks from 3200 to 3500 points. Thus, the current generation of cars showed results that were almost one and a half times worse. This number of points will not allow government agencies to buy UAZ vehicles without special permission, which is necessary for the purchase of foreign cars.
The low level of localization indicates that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began to purchase more foreign components than last year. Thus, domestic “Loaves” suddenly became more dependent on foreign supplies.
At the beginning of October, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant launched modern production of bodies for the “Loaf”. Specialists have implemented a high-performance robot in the welding area.
