If we compare the production volumes of cars in October 2023 and in the same month of 2022, they increased 1.6 times and reached 59.2 thousand units, Rosstat reports. At the same time, compared to September 2023, the pace of assembly slowed down slightly – by eight percent. In total, from January to October 2023, 417 thousand passenger cars rolled off the assembly lines of Russian factories, and this is 8.1 percent more than in the same period last year.

During the fall, production of several models was launched in Russia. So, in September, Moskvich began producing liftbacks with index 6, and Sollers began assembling Sollers ST6 pickups at the former Mazda plant in Vladivostok. In October, the Kaliningrad Avtotor mastered the assembly of the Chinese crossover BAIC X7, and AvtoVAZ expanded the Vesta family with a sports version of the Sportline.

By the end of the year, several factories that previously belonged to foreign companies will be restarted. These include the Isuzu plant in Ulyanovsk, a truck plant in the Kaluga region, where Volvos were previously assembled, as well as the ex-Volkswagen plant located there.

As for the production volumes of trucks, according to Rosstat, in October 16.6 thousand units were produced in Russia – 51 percent more than in the same month of 2022, and 2.9 percent less than in September 2023. th. During January-October of this year, 134 thousand trucks were manufactured (+17.6 percent to last year’s result).
