This model was brought to Russia privately, Rossiyskaya Gazeta found out, although later it will be sold officially with us with a full guarantee from the automaker. Now such a car costs 6.1 million, and a seven-seater version with plug-in all-wheel drive and three locks is available for purchase. The BAIC BJ60 is a potential competitor to the Tank 500.

BJ60 is the third model in the Beijing BJ line. An SUV with an index of 60 has occupied a niche between the BJ40 (already produced and sold in Russia) and the larger BJ80. Outwardly, the brutal SUV resembles American Jeeps: it has squared wheel arches, vertical rear light blocks and a spare tire placed on the fifth door, and the design of the radiator grille with integrated optics refers to American SUVs.

The BJ60 has an all-wheel independent suspension chassis and a three-lock all-wheel drive with reduction gear, including a front differential lock. In China, the model is offered with a two-liter turbo engine that complements either a 48-volt starter-alternator or a full-fledged electric motor. The top version is equipped with a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine and a powerful electric motor. For the latest version, a power reserve of 1000 kilometers is declared.

In Russia, a “mild hybrid” modification with a two-liter gasoline turbo engine and an electric superstructure appeared on sale. The power of this BJ60 is 266 horsepower.

Options include heated seats, three-zone climate control, atmospheric interior lighting, a panoramic roof, a digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch multimedia system screen. For an unofficially imported BAIC BJ60 in Russia, they ask for 6.1 million rubles, while the Tank 500 with a full automaker’s warranty costs from 6.3 million rubles.
